Easy Bacon Asparagus Appetizer

Serves 4


  • 8 strips of bacon
  • 8 fresh asparagus sticks (chop off the bottom 1 inch of the stalk) 
  • 1 wedge brie cheese
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice

Sauce: HerbNZest Basil Peach Raisin Chutney

Note: You will need toothpicks for this recipe.


In a skillet, salt and steam the asparagus for 2-3 minutes, brush over with lemon juice, then set aside to cool.

In the same skillet, fry the bacon until cooked, but still soft. Pat dry. Note: crispy bacon will break when you try to wrap the asparagus.

Slice brie cheese into 1-inch squares, place on top of the asparagus, wrap bacon around asparagus and pin using a toothpick to hold in place. Add 1 tbs of HerbNZest Basil Peach Raisin Chutney on top and serve.
